Indiana Jones IV

I thought it looked like the typical movie alien/Roswell alien because it WAS supposed to be THE Roswell alien! Hence why they were on Area 51 etc.

Nice to see Jim Robinson managed to get into this too, although his american accent was awful.
 
I'd say The Terminal is the only one of those that truly counts as mediocre (I haven't seen Munich); the rest of them were all fine for what they were - and A.I. Artificial Intelligence is one of his most underrated movies.
 
Well, what were they going to do? They couldn't set it in the 30's again could they? There's no CGI yet created that can let Harrison Ford get away with the last 20 years! It had to be the 50's, and I enjoyed the shift in culture. I will say though, that I can understand how many wouldn't like that. The whole reason for Indy was it's 30's serial homage.

I don't think it was dire at all though. I think it was great fun, and I reckon once people have had the chance to watch it a couple of times on DVD their opinions will calm a bit.

It had it's faults for sure, but nothing I would have torn the script up over. Things like John Williams music seeming almost non-existent, and the fact that for the first half hour everyone seemed to be perhaps having a little bit too much fun, instead of making a film. Also, if only Ford didn't say "liberry" (instead of library), and "nukiller" for nuclear, I think I would have perhaps been happier. The guy's a professor RAB!

But still, good summer fun. :)
 
But i liked Revenge of the Sith!!:eek: I am looking forward to the new Indiana Jones movie though, as it has a brilliant cast ie Cate Blanchette,Ray Winstone,Jim Broadbent,John Hurt,should be good-roll on May 2008!!:)
 
I really enjoyed it, and thought that it fit in well with the previous 3 films. While it wasn't as good as Raiders or The Last Crusade, i did enjoy it more than Temple of Doom, so overall i was happy with how it turned out.

The only things i didn't like was the fairly sedate opening (what was the point of those totally random kiRAB having a car chase with the soldiers???), and Shia Labeouf's monkey impersonation.

I loved how the Janitor from Scrubs was playing an FBI agent! I couldn't take him seriously at all, lol.

I think this film should be treated like The Simpsons Movie last year in the way that you should ignore all other opinions on the film and just go and make up your own mind. Most opinions/reviews of Indy 4 will have been presented by people with rose tinted glasses (or fanboys, like the people who absolutely hate the Star Wars prequels, even though they honestly aren't THAT bad...well, maybe Ep 1 is, but the other two are decent films). These people are expecting the second coming, and just because it's not what their vision of the film could have been they give it a critical drubbing. Anyone who has yet to see the film and has read this thread will probably assume that it is mediocre to bad, and imo it far from either of those things.

PS: I'm not having a go at anyone in this thread, you all have a right to your opinions.
 
I saw it yes, I think it is a major plot point...

1950's, Roswell, Crystal Skulls, B-Movie themes. Has a touch of the old Sci-Fi methinks, rather than the mystical / religious tones of the past films !!!?
 
Oh, by the way, i read somewhere that there was a cameo right at the end yet i didn't notice anyone familiar. Was there a brief cameo or was the article i read a load of BS.

It said something along the lines of "there is a cameo at the end, but it's not who you would expect". :confused:

Not often I really really look forward to seeing a movie, but... that trailer just made me wish they were doing another one after this!
 
I thought it was pretty crap.

I think the thing that ruined it most and made it seem so far away from Indiana Jones was the use of CGI. Just because you can doesn't mean you need to use, and in my opinion they definitely should not have.
