Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: He's back! (spoilers)

I thought this film was a lot of fun but I don't think it was at all as good as the first three.

[sp]Wasn't a fan of the alien thing. I actually had no idea there was all that background to the crystal skull thing until I read this thread, but I still thought it didn't fit with the movie. I know the other three films had some very far fetched elements to them but I thought this was taking it too far.

I thought Ray Winstone's character was pretty pointless.

I did think Shia was really good and I love that Indy and Marion got back together. And I liked the humour. I just thought the story let it down a bit.[/sp]

I thought this was a not bad film. Bit of a disappointment in some areas

I loved Marion coming back into it :D, it's shame she didn't have much stuff to do really and I really liked Shia as well, and it was cool seeing some of the stuff "Mutt" did echoed what Indiana did.

I thought John Hurt and Jim Broadbent was wasted in this film, which is a damn shame really, and the script was a bit, well a bit mad, especially the last 10 mins really,

Did  the very end though :D

So not bad, but not as good as the first 3... Indy/Marion and Indy/Mutt scene though

I usually need to see a movie more than once to have a better idea on whether I like it  but I think I liked it! :look: Had the same feel as the other's so that was good. :)

With so many mixed reviews and negative reactions I wasn't sure what to expect, but I quite enjoyed it. The movie took me for a ride and I had fun. I do agree about it being too long though. I enjoyed all the humor in it. Loved Shia of course. And the Shia/Harrison interaction was good. I guess that stuff made up for some of the stuff I wasn't interested in or went on for too long.

I actually felt as though the whole movie was a total let down. It definitely did not live up to all the hype.

It's been a while since I came to this forum. The spoiler thing must be new. How can I read them? Haven't figured it out yet. It is going to be a while before I get a chance to see the movie and want to know more. I have suddenly become a huge Shia fan. Now I have to rewatch Transformers.

I agree with her - it was a total let down. Harrison Ford looked so old. I hope he doesn't plan on making anymore. It will definitely be number one for this Memorial Day weekend but I think fans will be disappointed. Just my opinion...

Right! I never saw the originals in theaters either so a part of me lost hope that it would ever happen. It should be an exciting experience for sure.

Exactly!

[sp]And just the whole bit with the 13 (was it 13? I have a crap memory) aliens all joining to become one, and when the entire thing turned into a giant metal spacecraft and suddenly disappeared was...I don't want to say awful, but I was definitely disgruntled. They lost me there.[/sp]

I think this movie really is hit-or-miss. Alot of people hate the ending, but enjoyed the rest of it, whereas others surprisingly love the ending and that sci-fi aspect. Which is fair enough, I guess!

Bella Grint -

[sp]You have a good point about how the movie was true to events at the time, and along with the fact that the alien thing is based on actual mythology, it shows that they did their research in plotting out the story, and didn't just think "hmm, what have we not done yet? I know, aliens!" But it still bugs me, I can't get over how out-of-place it is![/sp]

i can't wait for this movie! honestly i am not expecting it to be Raiders, so i dont think that i will end up being disappointed at all! i just the fact that i actually get to see an Indiana Jones movie in theaters! i never thought that would happen. anyway i am going this weekend and am so looking forward to it!

I'm exactly the same way. If I want to see a film I'm gonna go regardless of what critics say. A lot of times critics put down a film while I loved it. Lol.
