Index.html File missing on Mac OS X?

Why does it matter? The index.html file in there is just a generic placeholder anyway. If there isn't one, create a text file and save it as index.html in the Sites folder. You're going to be modifying it anyway.
 
For the Apache web server, the index.html file is supposed to be in the Sites folder. However, when I click the sites folder the only folder there is only an images folder, and there is no Index.html file. Could someone please help?
