Independence Day 2 + 3

Yes, Goldblum neeRAB to get back in the action, he's been in the wilderness since being nestled in the blockbuster bosom in the 1990s.

But I'm not endorsing the production of these follow-ups. If they have to happen, might as well have Jeff back for some gravitas.

Maybe in the sequel, the aliens will have learnt the lesson not to have a single point of failure in their communications network. Jeff Goldbums virus must have sent them back to the drawing board and now their spaceships can run independently of each other..

They have had the story for the sequel down for ages now and apparently it's a really fantastic idea, it was just waiting for the right time (i.e. the time when director Roland Emmerich and Will Smith were ready to go ahead with it) and it's coming up to that time! Will is doing MIB 3 so he's definitely got to be up for Independence Day 2, right?

I too hope Jeff Goldblum is in the sequel(s), he was one of the best things about the first without a doubt.

Maybe the aliens will have learnt their lesson and will come back and be really freindly with the humans this time, oh no wait, it's a Roland Emmerich, therefore happiness cannot enter the equation...

Independence 2 "sponsored by Norton"

Will and Jeff install Norton on the Alien craft who now need our help to remove... unfortunatlly not even Jeff can help cos no-one can get rid of Norton.

It would be an action film of Jeff arguing with the Norton Tech Support, with time running out will the Tech Support a; pick up the phone & b; help Jeff out or will they make him to a system restore?? Only time will tell...

The sad thing is... I would watch that

The main problem is that the version of Norton will and jeff installed is a dodgy copy downloaded off the net with not so legal key inserted.

Symantec will not support it so the whole movie is gonna be spent with the aliens searching google for a fix :)

But they find some dodgy sites which seem to add spyware on the computer system and they spend independence day 3 looking at pr0n and gambling popups :)

We don't know who's going to be in it yet. Though I don't think Roland Emmerich will make it unless he gets Will Smith onboard.

Btw, the whole virus ending to the first Independence Day was really just a big nod to War of the WorlRAB where the aliens are killed by the common cold virus (or something like it). It's a bit of fun really, the perfect ending for that kind of movie!
