Increase 15 category limit?

Hi all again.

I've got a Tungsten T, and am miffed about the 15 category limit. Is there any way to increase this for to do's, memos and Docs to Go?

Cheers

There are a number of third party applications that increase the numbers of catagories.
One app that increases them all is KeySuites from chapura.com. It is an excellent application if you are using OutLook rather than the PalmDesktop.
I believe that Agendus does increase the limits also.
Look on Palmgear.com and search on "catagories".

That's been a Palm OS limit since the Dawn of Time. There might be add-on replacement apps for the memo pad, address book, etc. with support for more than 15 categories, though.

Pocket Mirror Pro can be configured for multiple categories from a sync standpoint but only if the underlying program supports the multiple category option.

Agendus does support it as a replacement Datebook application.

With regards to DTG - no.

As I mentioned in your other thread regarding SD card category - you'll probably have to settle on a more traditional Windows/DOS file structure and sub-directory structure to store files in a "mock" category scenario.

Just to add, I just checked and found out that Wordsmith doesn't support this:(

Also, MemoPlus from Handshigh doesn't support this either.:(

The plus about Pocket Mirror Pro - when syncing to Outlook - you can create multiple categories beyond the 15 limit if you select the handheld category matches a "Palm Pilot" category in Outlook. However, this is only true in the 4 core apps: Datebook, Contacts, ToDo and Memos.

To get around this issue on DTG - I'm not aware of any method.

Palm needs to get on the ball and fix this! Notice this thread is 3 yrs old - and it's still a problem.

I've generalized my categories to the point that each category holds an unmanageable list list of very loosely related contacts.

It's enough to put someone over the edge, and switch to a 3rd party app.

Though I cannot stand Outlook - it's a greater evil than the 15 catagory limit. Are there any good 3rd party contact managers that will work with the Palm Desktop? Or perhaps sync with a good linux tool?

i thought it would be nice cause to increase beyond the 15 category limit

yeah idon't use business or personal categories but use each for something different like each for a subject, course or drug/medication and i could have 200+ of these

so i use bonzai natara and natara daynotez

bonzai helps me with to dos and daynotes helps me with memos

docs...maybe office suite would work out best for you

goodluck sir
