Inbetweeners Series 3 Discussion

While it was not as funny, it was still a great episode and gave us an insight, well we left to build our own conclusions as to why they act they way they do.

After tonights episode i'm thinking Jay is actually gay and will probably come out in the film. Will will end up as a check out assistant while Neil makes it big, and Simon finally gets together with Carly - well thats what i think will happen in the film or a special that they make.

It's wierd how peoples perceptions differ - my housemates (and me) found todays and last weeks episodes the best of the series. Pretty much the whole episode was funny.

But I completely get the fact that there is very little interaction with the school now.

Apparently Carli will be in the film, but I can't see how they could shoehorn in Gilbert without it being very wierd.

Will says something along the lines of. "Being chauffeured around by Jay makes me feel like royalty. The royal in question being lady Di."

Or worRAB to that effect.

I disagree actually. This week was very funny but I thought resorting to showing the testicle last week (for rather a prolonged period of time) simply smacked of an American Pie movie and was one step too far. For me the humour was in the subtle and clever references to lives we all once led as teenagers; and this was too far.

A good critique of it can be found here:

But if one incident crystallises why I don't like The Inbetweeners, it occurred in last week's episode: there was a lot of talk about a teacher being a paedophile and I thought, this could be interesting and funny because I remember how rumours and innuendo would spread at school and you'd pick up on something that maybe wasn't there or had got blown out of proportion. Here, I thought, would be a moment of subtlety. But no. It turns out the teacher is a paedo. Another wasted opportunity.

Agreed, his acting spoils the episodes (too animated, and what is it with the head movements and eyes ?).

Series 3 is nowhere as good as the previous two.

The sialogue was very sharp tonight, especially in the first half.

Know what you mean about the Kerry jokes, but then again, she's obviously signed up to the whole thing. The writing in this show is concerned with/directed at characters, but when the comments are about a character's individual appearance then the actor's own looks come into it as they are & look one & the same.

Yes - he quickly lets other factors curtail his urges, whereas at other times, he's mad for it. I seem to remember him doing this before.

Anyway, an excellent episode, and good to see Kacey Barnfield making another quick appearance. Some brilliant reactions from Hannah Tointon when they were standing outside Tara's parents' house.
