in your culture, how does the household react to the lady getting pregnant?

I don't have my Mom, or Mother in law. Both are with dear God.

So, me just wondering, the moment you hit BFP, what are the reactions, how is the lady treated differently etc etc.

Anything special to eat, to do, or not to do..

I'll appreciate your help.

Btw, I'm hindu punjabi of Indian origin.
