Arhnem had been taken and held? Could this really have ended the war sooner or would the allies have been closed in a pocket or???

It was eventually taken and held by the allies but it later collapsed and the allies built a temporary pontoon bridge. Success of Operation Market Garden wouldve shortened the war by only a neglagible amount the main thrust of allied forces arrived only about a week late regardless of weather they held the bridge or not the Allies wouldve got across the river within a few days anyway

They were headed nowhere with too little road for adequate logistic support. There's no way Monty could possibly have taken advantage of the position even if he'd had the bridge.

It could have shortened the war by weeks, months, or done little. Much depends on how the Germans responded.
Remember that if the Germans had not launched the Battle of the Bulge, they could have used those resources for a defense in Germany.
