In which states is it illegal to hitch hike in?

I know it could be dangerous but every time I've ever done it, no harm ever befell me. I'm also 6'4" and 215 lbs. and I can take care of myself.
I feel as if it is a violation of my freedom of speech that sticking my thumb out and try to appeal for a ride from the public is considered illegal in some places.
I am broke, nearly getting evicted, I dont have a car and I want to get the heck out of here. I'm in Utah.
 
minnesota wyoming tennesee kansas ect all exept for florida california and utah
 
Can't tell you what states it is illegal in but typically the rule is.........it is illegal to hitch hike inside a city or town but on the highway (outside of an urban area) you can hitch hike. But picking up hitch hikers is illegal everywhere (maybe cuz your not really suppose to pullover on a highway).

Now I could be totally out to lunch on that one but that is what I was always told.
 
My stepson got hasseled by the cops here in Reno for that. Maybe it's illegal or they just didn't like his looks.
 
It illegal because u are interfearing with traffic and can cause an accident. If u are broke, why not gat a job? thats anew concept to avoid being evicted.Utah has a much lower rate of unemployment than elsewhere, so its possible to get a job. It wont be any better any where else.
 
It is illegal in most places. I recommend that you scrounge up enough money for a bus ticket to some town in Utah you like and get help from a mission there. Don't blame what you consider to be unfair laws for the predicament you are in.
Oh, and if you are broke, how dide you get a computer? Maybe you can sell it for food and a bus ticket?
