In which Jesse realizes she has to grow up.

Jesse, here's the way I look at things. If you turn around in life and go "holy shit I fucked up somewhere' then you need to start maturing more. If you are not at that point, then in general just be a decent human being, get educated, and don't do anything to excess (drugs, drinking, skipping class, gambling, ect). As long as you do no harm and live in moderation, you will be just fine. I don't see you turning into a bad person, I see you growing up when the time is right for you and living a decent life.

;797405']Jesse, I'll be the first to tell you from what little I do know about college-

They want you to know right off the bat that they don't give a shit about you, and they love doing that. College proffessors get paid regardless, whereas a high school teacher will be dismissed if a certain percentage of her students fail.

At least a Drill Sergeant wants you to graduate.

I'm going into Junior year, so I still have a bit of time before worrying about college, but I hope you'll have a good time. My mother tells me that some of the best times in her life were in college... I've heard that while friends from high school don't stay friends for very long, oftentimes friends from college end up as lifelong friends.

About the money situation... I have a fund for college, but I'm seriously considering joining the Coast Guard and having them pay for my college. I decided on Coast Guard because 1) I won't get sent to Iraq for a ridiculous war with no clear objective, 2) because the Coast Guard prevents billions of dollars in drugs from getting into the U.S., and 3) because I'm not quite sure what I want to do with my life, and I think the Coast Guard might give me a little guidance.

I feel guilty advocating the armed forces, but if you're really in a pinch they can help out quite a bit. In the meantime, I hope you can get over this fear... I'm sure you'll have a great time in college.

I've actually given consideration to the military several times. When it comes down to it, though, I'm not able. It's not just physical, either. I wouldn't mentally be able to do it. I know my own limits, and yes I have pushed them to several extremes and found that I can do things I never thought I was capable of. But when it really comes down to it, I don't want to sell my soul for an education. If I were going to join the military, it would have to be for something I felt strongly about... and I don't.

It's been given consideration, but is completely out of the question.

As for all of the advice everyone else has given - I've really read it and taken at least a little solace from all of it. All of my friends are so ready and excited for all of this, and it seems I'm alone in my boat of nervousness. So it's nice to know that at least a few people don't think I'm totally crazy. xD

;797534']I would also suggest having lots of sex with BEW. Give him buttsecks if he asks for it, and swallow. Anytime his boner rears up. jump on it and fuck him silly. You should even consider bringing another chick to bed with you.

Okay, BEW... I want my $20.

That's perfectly all right- the military is not something you should join unless you really think you can cut it... and I'm not saying you can't, but you make a great point about "selling your soul," because the military really does control just about every facet of your daily life.

;797536']If you even consider it, I suggest you speak with me prior to it. Danni had to go through about 2 hours of answering questions before I was comfortable letting her do it.

Most frats and sororities are legit. Those that aren't are the types you see stereotyped in almost any teen flick or what have you. On my campus, every single fraternity and sorority were legit. On other campuses I have visted, I have yet to see one that exists soley to party and cause havokchylde.

You are incorrect. Greek dues cover private parties, house repairs, expenses involved with philanthropy, which believe it or not, can run pretty high. This notion that greeks have to "buy their friends" is not even close to being correct.

Greeks provide more to the communities they are involved in then anyone outside the organizations will ever know. Just as one example, at my college we had a Relay for Life fundraiser. The school raised approximately $16,000. $10,000 of the money raised came from greek organizations. Every greek organization (save maybe 1 or 2) stayed up all night for the walk.

This is just one example of the many services, drives, and fundraisers that greek organizations do. While I'm sure some organizations exist soley to get drunk and get laid, the vast majority don't. There is far, far, far more to greek life than what is shown on television and in movies.

If you join the military, then when the current militant regime starts shooting its own people (and it will) then when I shoot back I might be shooting at you and that would be sad.

Plus, military personell are 98% more likely to turn into zombies during a zombie attack, and your tits are way to pretty to rot.

sometimes the change seems very scary, but when you actually go through with it and give the new experience a chance...it could change your world for the best. i went to costa rica, which was a pretty huge step in my life, and then i came hom and instead of being unhappy in my little "perfect" world, i broke up with my boyfriend and went away to school. for me it was the best thing possible. now i live at school, work to support myself (though my parents do help me a lot), and i have a nice, great, super, awesome boyfriend that never treats me wrong.

change is scary, but if you open up and embrace the change, it may be the best thing that ever happened to you. good luck jesse! :D
