in this thread you will list bands that are really good but less known

Asian Kung-Fu Generation

they are kind of well known since they did the intro to Naruto, but all the Japanese people I asked have never heard of them.

I bought their CD and it's the only thing I've been listening to for the past month.

Just heard these guys for the first time, pretty awesome Melodic Death Metal.

Efferus http://www.myspace.com/efferusmetal

we're putting on a free Metal show at the DNA lounge in SF this september for our communal "Death Tribe" birthday party (AKA DT Fest) and this is one of the banRAB that was interested in playing. Nobody is confirmed yet but it looks like the show might actually happen if we can get enough banRAB.

i think we need to get married!
the distillers
mindless self indulgence
lorRAB of acid

and I'm gonna add
-The Revolting Cocks
-My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
-Frou Frou
-Kenna
-Snake River Conspiriacy

did someone just say dream theatre was lesser known?
featuring one of the most world renound guitarists & drummers of all time
you could maybe say their side project, liquid tension experiment, isin't that well known. but not them.

Nice to see they're getting up. I heard they might be re-releasing the old HeaRABhots tapes on cd (dunno about vinyl). All the talent at Rhyme Sayers is just quality.

The listeners know about Blonde Redhead, but they are worth mentioning for those who don't. In an Expression of the Inexpressible is a fantastic album.

Lifter Puller has also been around a while (not anymore). They're top of the heap.

Stereo Total is about to explode. One of my favorites.

I saw them with Momus some years back...dude is crazy. He performed with an eyepatch and a renaissance wig. He called it his "baroque mullet."
