In the USA - on what grounds are you allowed to 'leave' the military service ?

is there something equal to a 'contract' whereby, you sign the dotted line - shake hands and thats it. You must now honour that contract and see it through, or you can be liable to pay $$$ in compensation to the military ?

that is soooo blackmailing the individual.


thats also saying that if a soldire wishes to question the logic behind participating in a certain conflic - he/she is not allowed to do so in a way that enables them to pull out of action.

thats childish and basicaly blackmailing somebody into serving in the forces is it not ?

surely soldiers should reserve the right to fight or not fight if they are in the service ?

i know little next to nothing about 'armies' and their toys and rules, so if you have participated in senseless murder abroad under the 'glorious' name of your country - please do share that with us !

You can not buy your way out of the military and that would be a stupid idea. I think this question was asked at least four times this morning...

Blackmail?

The military train the individual for FREE, when the individual would probably have to pay for that training if they wanted it from somewhere else. The individual also gets many benefits and can travel round the world. The military expect some service in return for their opportunities.
 
When your contract is up or you were discharged prior by the appropriate regulation, such as misconduct or medical issues.

You can't just quit.
