In the national health care debate, what does "public option" mean?

As far as national health care is concerned, what do people mean when they talk about "public option?" Could someone describe to me, in very simple, direct terms what "public option" means? And what does "government option" mean, and what is the difference twixt the two?

Public option and government option simply means a government run health insurance
Why is that bad? simple i will explain.

Government run means no need to show a profit that means will they can always undercut the private sector.

Government run means businesses will see a way to cut cost and simply sign you up to the government plan.

Once the private sector is destroyed the government can now commence rationing to save cost and jacking up your rates..after all there is no more competition so where are you going to go.

As you see government option is a sneaky back door way of getting you on a single payer plan anyone tell you otherwise they are either dim or simple liars.
 
It is a large insurance provider ran by the government and paid by tax revenue without a profit incentive. It is meant to compete with insurance companies to drive costs down and provide insurance for people who cannot get insurance.

If you are for example in a wheel chair or have a number of preexisting conditions then private insurance will not cover you regardless of how much money you have or any thing. It is meant primarily to get help for those people, and poor people that cannot afford health care as well as preventing the price of insurance to double every ten years.

The opponents talk out of both sides of their mouth about it. They say that nothing like this can be ran by the government effectively and will be a failure, while at the same time saying it will put all private insurers out of business.

I think the opponents are pretty full of it even though I myself really don't have a lot of support for the idea, because of some of the details.

The government option is the same thing.
 
It means if we have free healthcare..you as a citizen have the right to have public free healthcare..or you can keep your insurance company and your doctor etc.
