ok so, if adam and eve hadnt eaten off the tree of knowledge...therefore they had no knowledge of anything...how were they to know that defying the word of "god" was a bad thing to do. how were they to know that the serpent was evil?

the only way the could possibly know that they shouldnt eat the fruit is by actually eating the fruit...seems like god tricked them to me
HOW did they know....they diddnt even know they were naked for crying out loud...they were completely oblivious it says so in YOUR bible

if you have no knowledge you cant know anything
blind obedience, yes i thougt that might come up....ok so how did they know to obey god or the snake?

they blindly obeyed the snake...how were they supposed to know that this was wrong?
ok ok fine the tree of knowledge of GOOD and EVIL then....mhhmmmmm

so how were they supposed to know that defying god was evil

i doesnt matter how you put it they still couldnt have known

Its odd to me that they would be punished for wanting knowledge.

The bible is more or less saying knowledge is bad.

It seems to me that much of the bible is used by the church to control people.

Gee....never really finished reading that stuff - did ya?
It's not the tree of knowledge...........it's the Tree of Knowledge of GOOD and EVIL!

And God told them to not eat of it. It's that simple. They did not know that the serpent was evil. It didn't matter! In fact, Eve was never told. It was Adam that was told by God of the restriction. And it was Adam's place to protect his wife. Adam didn't do this. Consequently, Adam was held responsible for the sin of them both and it is called "The Fall of Man" ...........not the fall of woman.

God did not trick them. He had one and only one command. And because man is so treacherous and really stupid.......they could not even abide with one law.

Yes, you are correct. They were not tested for ethics, however, but for blind obedience.

If you read the Bible, you will find that God is more interested in obedience than being good.

Jesus tends to be the opposite.

God Told them that it was wrong to eat from the tree , therefore they had a primitive sense of right and wrong. But other than that , they were still dumb.

He gave them everything they needed. He provided food. He provided Adam a help meet. But like I said before, He gave a choice. Love cannot exist without a choice. He put the tree in the Garden because he wanted them to choose Him. Choose to follow his leading. God TOLD THEM that if they ate off of the tree, they would die. It wasn't a physical death. It was a spiritual death. It was a separation from the day to day conversations that they had with God in the Garden.

Dude, i'm not even gonna try and really answer you, but they knew to obey God, and God said don't eat...
