To get to the gym leader you must battle all the trainers.

After that you must find the trash can that has a switch in it by pressing a on the cans.

You then must find the second switch that is located in one of the trash cans around the first switch.

I hope your using ground type pokemon !!!!

simple, you just capture a pokemon and use it. duh. just kidding you usually level up your pokemon to about 2-3 levels above the gym leaders pokemon and play pokemon who are strong against their type. most common rule you can use in pokemon. works everytime.
