In need of help

Hi guys, I have recently ran into a problem on my droid x... Before I go on I want to tell you my phone is not rooted and I am rellativly new to this smart phone stuff... With all that being said my problem is when I updated my phone 2 days ago my market dissapeared... I had it on my desktop and it shows that its there but it now looks like a blue window with a gear on it, and when you touch it it tells me that that application is not installed. I have done some research and tried mist things that I have found on these forums.... however nothing has worked so far... So I ask you guys if there is anything that I can do to get my market back, and also ask why it was uninstalled with that update? Thank you very much for any and all help that you guys could provide me!!

The icon on your desktop was a shortcut. The path to the Market app changed with the update so the shortcut became invalid. Try loading the Market from the app drawer where all of your other applications are stored.

If that works, you can delete the old shortcut by long-pressing it and dragging it into the trash can that will appear at the bottom of the screen. Then, long press the Market app in the app drawer tp put a valid shortcut back on your desktop.

Unfourtunatly market is not there either... even when I go into manage applications through settings it is not anywhere in there either.... :-(

My phone is a droid X... less than a month old and I purchased it directly from Verizon.com... ever since this last update it has been acting weird and my market just vanished.
