for our family reunion this year, my family is thinking of surprising one of our 18 yr old's (his bday is the day after) with a car as a gift for his earning a scholarship to his top choice college. but we aren't sure if he can have the car in his name with no license,
HE WILL BE GETTING HIS LICENSE, but NC requires ins. before getting a license. so would he be better getting non owners ins and then getting a car OR getting the car then getting his license?
I will be calling the DMV in the morning but they asked me to find out.
