In jokes slipped onto TV shows

In supernatural they tend to have jokes like in the ep with Paris Hilton there was a joke about house of wax which her and Sam were in together can't remember what it was. Then way back in the really early series there was someting about Gilmore Girls when they were using it's set.
Also wasn't the oc completely filled with in jokes everything they did was in "the valley" like when Seth and Summer started dating in real life two actors from the valey were supposedly doing it and Summer caught them

After fans on the 'net whinged that photos of the new TARDIS from the soon-to-be-revived Dr Who has windows that were larger than the original series, Steven Moffat added a joke about 'the windows being too big' for a police box in his 2007 episode 'Blink'.

In Frasier, he was dating a character called Nanny G who had been doing a childrens television character for 20 years.

Frasier - 'Can you imagine playing the same character for 20 years?'

No there wasn't. There was one scene where Grant was talking to Phil, and said "Steve". Some people thought he had said Steve McFadden's name, but he was actually referring to another character whose name was Steve.

In Diagnosis Murder Stephen J Cannell guest starred playing a TV producer.
He was being asked questions by Steve who is played by Barry Van Dyke.

Cannell talks about action tv series and Barry Van Dyke says "like Airwolf" and Cannell just looks at him.
Of course Barry Van Dyke starred in what was a disaster final Airwolf series.

They had a few good spoofs in Diagnosis Murder.

That TV show 'Doctor Danger' that formed part of one plot was very obviously the show within the show within the show!

In Angel, Cordy's flatmate, the ghost Dennis, was a reference to Star Wars The Phantom Menace (Dennis = Dennis the menace = phantom menace)

When Jane Leeves -Daphne Moon in Frasier- was pregnant in real life, they made her character into a chocoholic to explain her weight gain.

When the next series started, Jane was still on maternity leave so they sent her character off to a health farm to lose weight to cover her absence. Niles opened a letter from Daphne saying that she'd lost over 9 pounRAB and they all shouted congratulations. The in-joke being that Jane had given birth to her 9lb + baby during the break...

Del Boy went to a casino called the '1-2-1 Club' in Only Fools & Horses.

This was the name of the Divorcees meeting group in another of John Sullivan's sitcoms, 'Dear John'.

There's been a few on FrienRAB that I've noticed.

When Monica and Chandler are moving in together she gives him a key and he christens it by locking the door and opening it and says "the door hasn't been locked in five years"

and another key one in the Finale when they all get their keys out and put them on the table for the super.

Many, many years ago on Coronation Street, Gail Potter,as she was, was waiting for a date outside a cinema.Bloke walks up to her and says (something like) 'Looks like you've been stood up - I know how that feels'.Bloke was played by Graham Fellows aka Jilted John.
