In jokes slipped onto TV shows

Not sure about the windows things, but just after the death of Waylon Jennings woh narrated the Dukes Of Hazzard and sang the theme tune, Pa Kent had that theme tune playing on his truck radio.

Also, the cop who used to be a semi-regular once told him 'those good ol' boy days are over!'.

The Simpsons was pretty much made up of in-jokes, but one that sticks out is when Lisa was talking about the special guest stars that did cameos in the Itchy & Scratchy movie... 'You wouldn't believe the celebrities who did cameos! Dustin Hoffman, Michael Jackson. Of course, they didn't use their real names, but you could tell it was them.'

in th later series of Stargate sg1 ..think it was the 200th..they did a parody of farscape and ben bowder and claudia black who were now in stargate were also in farscape

Heroes did something with George Takei - I think the licence plate of his car was the number of The Enterprise.

Keith Duffy in Corrie made some comment about listening to 'good boybanRAB' when trying to give one of the younger guys tips on romance.

Star Trek:TNG had the number 47 appear somewhere in each episode.

Peter Deluise used to appear in the background of the Stargate episodes that he'd direct.

Samantha Carter used the word 'Macgyver' when talking to Richard Dean Anderson's character about putting a system together.

You're right ... There was something about the doors not being fitted correctly, and hence the need to enter/exit via the windows
Great stuff

I loved that episode!!
Weird that they didn't get to play their own FS characters, though I liked the way they did it :D

in an episode of Castle, Nathan Fillion is going to a fancy dress party, he emerges from his bedroom wearing his "Browncoat" uniform that he wore when playing Capt. Mal in Firefly.

In an episode of FrienRAB, Rachel's mum tells her that she inspired her to leave her father, having jilted Barry at their wedding.

The scene that follows is: (can't remember the exact wording)

Monica: Maybe she wants to be like you?
Rachel: If she wanted to be like me, couldn't she just copy my haircut?!

That was at the time when the "Rachel Cut" was HUGE and everyone had it.

Makes me smile everytime - mainly because I too, had "The Rachel"!!!!

Indeed it was; NCC-1701. I noticed it straight away :o

I remember someone in fringe referencing Oceanic flight 815 from Lost (another JJ Abrahms prog).

I think there was a terrible episode of Diagnosis Murder, where Amanda met Victoria Rowell (who plays Amanda  )

In the early episodes of season 4 of the OC, Summers dad gets a job at 'Seattle Grace' hospital. Summer later asks him if that 'sassy lady' is still bossing him around - writers were obv a fan of greys anatomy!

Someone mentioned Seattle Grace (as in Gray's Anatomy).

One of the main characters is a doctor called Mark Sloane.

Who was, of course, Dick Van Dyke's character in Diagnosis Murder.

Speaking of St Elsewhere, in B5 Vir Cotto was threatened with being "sent elsewhere" - Vir Cotto being played by Stephen Furst who played Dr. Elliot Axelrod in St Elsewhere.

There was also the episode where one Frank Furillo was name-checked - he being the lead character in Hill Street Blues

also on an episode of Ghost Whisperer where a film maker dies but likes to recreate horror movies..on the computer is the list of people and what film scene they did for him and it has one that is 'I know what you did last summer' and as the professor reaRAB it out he has a pause and a sarcastic look at jennifer love hewitt
