In halo 3 how dose the Hayabusa armor fit into halo's history?

I believe that the asian themed armor is because of Spartans appearance in the Dead or alive video game but in the big scheme of things how dose that armor fit into the halo universe? I have also noticed a few chinese symbols imprinted onto the guns on some of the ODST guns. Why is this?

This is the decription of the armour found on halo wikia

"The Hayabusa is a powered battle armor system, similar to the standard Mark VI MJOLNIR, except stemming from Project HAYABUSA as opposed to Project MJOLNIR. It was developed by RKD, an Earth-based "think tank" in the year 2536, 16 years before the Mark V entered production. It was presented to the UNSC Ordnance Committee as an answer to the self-contained powered armor problem. Advanced materials are used in the production of the Hayabusa armor reducing the weight of the current generation armor by nearly a third (at that time). "

The only information I know of about it is that the UNSC were researching "Project: HAYABUSA" at the same time as "Project: MJOLNiR" (the default Spartan armour). There isn't really a background to it, the whole armour set is designed to be a reference to the Ninja Gaiden series. There is a bit of technical info at: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Hayabusa
