X xk12x20 New member Jun 13, 2009 #2 yes ive had car sterios and amps in my boat. They always sound better then marine amps but the first time u get it wet it will be ruined. if u keep it sheltered like you said you were you will be fine just make sure uset it up the rite way

C Cardaba New member Jun 13, 2009 #3 It should be fine. You might consider using silicone to seal the edges just to be sure no water can get in the amp in case of an accidental splash. Be sure to get an amp that doesn't have cooling fans or any other types of openings to the electronics.
