In Flames

When I refer to swede-scene garbage I specifically mean the whole melodeath thing. At The Gates were mediocre at best and when you have a bunch of banRAB (Dark Tranquility, In Flames and Soilwork at the forefront) playing watered down At The Gates riRAB it really only gets worse. The fact that it somehow caught on is pretty insulting to people with ears.

I remeraber when I bought Reroute to Remain. I listened to it all the way through, took it back to the store for my money. They wouldn't do that, so they offered a trade of a different CD of less or equal value, so I picked up Of One Blood by Shadows Fall. Best trade in my life.

I didn't like Lunar Strain that much. Come Clarity mixed the old sound with the new so at least they did something there. Clayman was really just Colony with differant songs, but none the less it still sounded good. And I hate all Live Albums.

In Flames are awesome....their early stuff is more melodic and heavy than sountrack to your escape...thats in my opinion not as good as the others......check out colony, the jester race and reroute to remain.....awesome s h i t

At the Gates have one decent album, namely "Slaughter of the Soul," and it was fun playing drums to. But like all metal (besides prog of course) it gets boring fast.

And I obviously don't blame you for not understanding - if your brain power was at the same level of mine, you'd understand, 'friend.'

PS: Cynic are part prog metal, and I never said I hated them; they are mildly okay. Let's say: better than Opeth, but that's nothing special.

1. You do not understand what makes a good MeloDeath album. It's not the marketability or the verse/chorus/verse structure SOTS had. It's the meaning behind it. The feeling. The anger. And SOTS as good as it was, doesn't have that like With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness and stuff.

2. Haha, dude I'm sure you're smart, but saying your opinion is right therefor you are more intelligent is total bull****.

3. Opeth writes better songs than you. Go listen to that trendy "prog" rock that is Dream Theatre. John F. is calling. He wants you to suck his **** some more.

anything pre black ash inheritance (subterranean, etc.) is very "old school" influenced. Most of the songs have acoustic intros. I love this sound. Everything post-Clayman took on a more techno influenced sound and almost sounded grittier. It took getting used to but I love it now as well. My Sweet Shadow is almost as good as the best In Flames song ever: Scorn. great band and I reccomend them to anyone who is breathing.

Yeah there pretty good. I also like Larab of God, and Killswitch Engage. Then theres Soylent Green, and Goatwhore. And if you ever want something funny, theres always AC.
