In European culture when not using the Indian name what is/was the swastika called?

It has not been called anything but the Swastika but I suppose since it is so mixed in with National Socialism it is quite often called the Nazi Sign

As far as I've known it's always been called a swastika in every country - especially Germany - only it had a different meaning in different cultures, such as hope or whatever in Indian.

It's also known as tetraskele.

This was, it is thought, a sun symbol from very ancient times; possibly Neolithic, and had many names depending on what language one spoke in what area of the ancient world.
It was associated with many diverse religious traditions as well as symbolic meanings. It has been found in archaeological sites all over Europe and the Middle East as well as parts of Asia.
