i have a sony in dash stereo system, and ever since my car engine died (my fuse to my whole sound system also blew) my auxiliary jack stopped working. at first, i thought maybe the prongs were loose. my male to male cord would fit in. but wobble around and the sound would only come out one speaker, or not at all. however; the other day, i took it apart only to find that the reason it was wobbly was because it was no longer attached to the red, black, and white cords. these three cords also attach to the motherboard of the deck, and they are attached by little silver balls. on the auxiliary port, the cords are not attached to the silver balls, and there is no way of reattaching them. the ends that were attached are also frayed and split. i'm an 18 year old female, and my dad thinks that i'm just confused and he wants to take a look at it. but i don't even know if it's worth the trouble, and if i should just get a new deck put in?! (i was going to get an FM transmitter, but the "best" ones are 90-100 dollars, and that's as much as a new deck!) PLEASE HELP!
