in court why dont they just give people a lie detector?

i mean instead of putting an innocent person behind bars...why dont they just give them a lie detector yeah...they do it sometimes but why not all the time?

Gee maybe because polygraph tests are UNRELIABLE, and have been proven so. Polygraph tests are NEVER admissible in Court either. They are used by the POLICE, not the Courts. They are part of an investigation.
