Well worth you viewing , the film not the fairy tale dream city of alcoves /swans ,lol (or both !)

I went to see this before not knowing much more than its about two hitmen hiding out in a Gothic Belgium/Flemish city an it was a black comedy ...

I have to say this film was exceptionally written an directed by Martin McDonagh, the picture cine was Gorgeous , some of the shots especially the ending parts have to be up there with the Greats surely ?

I must say it is quite a sweary film an some of the violent scenes are graphic ,be warned ...

I was close to tears in parts at how affecting the writers style is ...
I must say I think Colin Farrell certainly delievered in buckets here an Brendon Gleeson was excellent ,
my only minus must be the usual Superb Ralph Fiennes who must of seen *Sexy Beast * before he did this ... ,
dont get me wrong Fiennes IS Good but the Cockney Crime boss is old hat ,

I must stress the script is gloriously so Real ....

The leading lady in this is the very sexy Cl

Same here, they've got the big cardboard stand for it too at mine. Maybe it'll be next week? Dont know what else is out. The big hitters start the week after though with Iron Man.

I was surprised at how moving some of the scenes were when Colin Farrel was thinking about
how he'd shot the little boy.
The film has been described as a black comedy and fair enough, there were a lot of really comic scenes but overall I thought it was much more than that. 8/10

Good film shot in a beautiful city. For those who haven't been to Bruges it wasn't over hyped (or under hyped for that matter) it really is as beautiful as it looked in the film

I admit that I initially saw the film because I love Bruges. It is a truly beautiful city that my frienRAB and I have been going to for years now since it first caught us off guard on a day trip.

However, I stayed for the film (to really twist a phrase) because I ended up rather enjoying it. It may be the only film in which I can remember actually liking Colin Farrell as an actor.

One of the best films I've seen at the cinema in a long, long time.

Superbly written, shot and acted, I laughed from start to finish, only pausing to stifle a sniff in the more touching scenes.

Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell work superbly well together and Ralph Fiennes (with a HUGE nod to Ben Kingsley) is superb as big-boss Harry.

Would reccomend this to anyone, unless you're offended by swearing and bloody violence, both of which are prolific but never gratuitous.

9/10

Saw it tonight as well. Really liked it, was pleasantly surprised. Colin Farrell in a decent film.

I liked Ralph Fiennes. Was not to see him sort of mocking his villain-ness from films past.

Saw this last night and thought I'd see if there was a RAB thread on it already.

OMG  at the previous posters.

The bf and I thought this was the worst film we've seen this year and we both spent the whole time fidgeting and bored.

Sure, there are a couple of very funny scenes, but ultimately the characters are paper thin and unloveable, leaving us disinterested in what little exposition happened.

Very surprised at the amount of positive reviews this has had!

second that ,saw it in dublin about 2 months ago, didn't laugh once. They thought unpolitically correct will be funny, but forgot that it's only funny when subtle, very popular here too, it's one of the movie recommended by moviegoers. I really don't get it. Awful movie.

I have to second the comments here. I had no clue what this film would be about, but thoroughly enjoyed it. It made me laugh out loud, but also had it's touching moments.

For me it's Colin Farrell's best role & Brendan Gleeson is a gem. I'd recommend it.

:)
