A valid point, yet you gloss right over the matter of valuation to conclude we must. A few zeroes, in this case, mean a world of difference in regards to how we argue something based on its own merits, versus using hyperbole to support a pre established opposition.
 
I grant your point, but I would argue that a cost measured at $10,000,000,000 as an annual minimum means we must do something.

Yes, we waste far more money on other things. But those are discussion for another thread.

In this thread we have (presumably) an agreed upon cost with a clearly defined cause. It should be a relatively simple matter to decide how to eliminate the cause.

By their logic, I shall now take everything they say and divide its severity by at least 10.
 
Maybe you should increase your skill set and look for employment in other fields.

Maybe the government could offset such injustice since it has since the 80's. When they found a private corporation screwed its clients, it paid lawyers millions, and offered a reduced coupon to the consumer.

I suggest that they offer each offended illegal a $30.00 Taco Bell dinner certificate. Since no self respecting illegal would eat there, even with a certificate, it is a win-win....
