...author's name, "van Velzen"? When using APA 5th edition:

van Velzen, M., & Garrard, P. (2008). From hindsight to insight - retrospective analysis of language written by a renowned Alzheimer’s patient. ISR. Interdisciplinary Science Reviews, 33(4), 278.

^^ should the "v" in the author's name "Marjolein van Velzen" be capitalized? This is the way RefWorks made my reference list, but I'm not sure if it's correct.

Please help, ASAP!

If it is his middle name then leave it out. If it is part of his last name as in VanVelzen then it should be capitlized. If your not sure then Capitilize it anway as it is a name. Itr actually should read:

Velzen, M. & Garrard, P. (2008)........

Unles the Van is not his middle name.

Stop using Ref Works it will screw you up.

•Authors' names are inverted (last name first); give the last name and initials for all authors of a particular work unless the work has more than six authors.

List by their last names and initials. Use the ampersand instead of "and."
