In 'A Streetcar named Desire' why did Stella continue to be with Stanley?

I read somewhere that it is because she found her identity in men because of the era and also because she was obsessed with him in a purely sexual way? Because Stanley was portrayed as #giving and taking' pleasure and a seed-bearer meaning her probably cheated (or would in future) on Stella which is reflected in the fact that he raped Blanche.
