In 2-3 years Nintendo will be back on Top

You underestimate the importance of graphics in this next gen war. It would be one thing if Wii looked like it was at least the same generation as PS3 and 360, but it looks squarely in the PS2/Xbox generation.

Wii will do well the first year just from the newness of it, but it will tail off big time the years after that. Wii really will be hurting with the lack of 3rd party support in comparison to PS3/360.

I predict Wii will have about as much success as Gamecube did, at the most.

that's the dumbest fucking thing ive ever heard....

a large portion of third party companies lack the technology or money to create games for the ps3 (and some 360) and so they're left with the wii... it may actually be an advantage to wii to be not as advanced

Yes, give PS3 a year and we'll see. XBOX 360 had a shitty lineup and it first came out, but they have awesome games. Only other game I'm excited about for the Wii is Smash Bro's. Unless they come out with a new Mario Cart

Yet it is completely accurate. The list of 3rd party titles coming out for Wii compared to that of PS3/360 is miniscule.

Look, when a game company spends money on building a game, the game's assets will be similar quality for both PS3 and 360, meaning they can be reused.

They can't do the same thing with Wii. A game like Assassin's Creed is simply not doable on the Wii graphically. If they wanted to make an Assassin's Creed for Wii they would have to build it completely from scratch. The work done for the PS3/360 version can't help at all with the Wii version because the Wii itself is so damn underpowered. There have been interviews with developers like Epic, ID, and even EA where the developers talk about how they can't get too excited about developing on Wii because the hardware is so limiting.

This is the case with 80% of games going multiplatform on PS3/360. They simply are too hard to port to Wii, and so, just won't be ported at all.

That is the reality of the situation. Call it stupid all you want, but it is damn accurate.

You aren't going to see GTA 4, Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six, etc. on Wii.

Wii's library of games will be just as small as the library of games on Gamecube or N64. And this lack of library will hurt the Wii, just like it hurt the prior two systems.

you're simply making this up, every developer that i have seen interviewed said they were as giddy as a school girl to be able to develop for the wii. EA said it was a breath of fresh air and they want a whole division to simply figure out new ways to develop for the wii

third party support is no doubt necessary for a console to survive, especially the ps3 and x360, but nintendo alone is one of the best developers out there, good enough to make the console survive on their games alone.

I mean, for the gamecube, which did decently as far as sales, I can't name many 3rd party games that were as good as any of the nintendo stuff. I expect the wii to do better sales wise than the gamecube, perhaps even the ps3, but it won't be at the top.

Just because they'll develop something for the Wii doesn't mean they're going to release something. There are tons of games that get killed in the development cycle. The Wii could very well be a death trap.

Do you want to know who was the most successful publisher for the GC?

Nintendo.

And half of their games, despite their rave reviews, did not do impressive on the sales charts.
