Importing DVD

I am thinking of importing a DVD of Black Hawk Down, from US to UK. I know about region coding and have Region X for my PS2, so my question is will it work as Amazon says it has Regional Coding Enhancement and may not play?

Secondly as I have never imported before, what can I expect to happen? such as taxes and import duties?

Is Amazon the best value?

As long as the company that your are ordering it from mark the package as a gift then you'll will not have to pay any tax or import duties. If not they you'll have to pay up.

Play.com is the best place to get U.S dvRAB. Free postage for all of europe. No tax or import duties. (this includes boxsets at any price)

But you may want to wait before ordering the u.s dvd of black hawk down. there's only a few xtras on it. Columbia are planning a special edition due later this year.

The uk Will get the 2 disc Special edition first on the 16th of september.

Oh yeah. U.S Discs marked RCE (Regional Coding Enhancement) Will work on the PS2 (with region X) and dvd players that have to be manually switched to the region you wish to play.

wow play do seem quite good, whats their delivery like (timescales to arrive at your door)?

Edit: Hold on I have just seen that their address is in Jersy, so does the dvd come from there? (and presumably no worry of tax and returns)

I've never had any problems with play.com for R1 or R2.
Region 2's seem to come from Jersey and take a couple of days (Normal post really)
Region 1's come from Belgium (well that's what it says on the sticker) and can take about 5 days.

No problems with customs for either as they are both in the EU

yep, had 3 new discs arrive from play this morning, placed the order on sunday night, so cant complain :)

ordered almost all my discs from them, and never had any major probs

a bit off topic, but i ordered an xbox game from play and it was scratched to f*ck. I think they had been playing it before they sent me it...
