Importing address file into Tungsten T

I have had 2 other Palms, and have imported a database file which contains names, addresses, etc. into the address book. I do it so infrequently that I forget what I did previously to import - and of course, I am not smart enough to write down the steps.

I have tried .txt, and .csv file types, and I believe the .csv format worked, however, when I try to do this now, the T (which I am setting up for the first time) will not accept the file, and wants to store the file in the SD card only. I cannot find anything on this in any manuals. I wonder if there is some sort of a suffix .xxx, which tells the file to go to the Palm.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The only way to import addresses is via the palm desktop. Go to File>Import and you can import a .csv or .txt. I'd suggest you export one record first to get the mapping down and then turn around and import.

But you can not import records via the handheld directly into the Palm Address book application....to my knowledge.
