My sister and I's class is studying debate. We have to write a persuasive essay for the class, and must have our topic by tomorrow. A lot of people are doing like abortion, gay marrige, and basic topics like that. But our teacher doesn't want us all doing the same topic. And we'd like to do something that ISN'T too awkward to present in front of the class (we have to) because neither of us are too fond of public speaking. So we obviously need more than one idea, but anything would help, cause we can't think of ANYTHING good.

well its a class with the whole highschool in it, we're freshman. but we're all aloud to pick our own topic so theres a lotta different ones that people are picking.
Hi, you didn't mention what grade you're in so I'm not sure what level of debate you're expected to have but why not do your topic on something like stem cell research or cloning if you're looking for something controversial.
Or, for a topic I've been pondering myself lately, take a look at technology and discuss whether or not social networking sites (like facebook, myspace, twitter, etc.) actually bring us closer together or force us to be more fake with each other.
