Important Event in History worth writing a paper about?

I have to write an argument paper that involves a specific event in history. I am arguing that if for some odd reason only one book could be written about history why this event should be included in the book.. this is the actual assignment no lie.. but anyway it cannot be like a decade event for example the roaring twenties but it can be about the invention of penicillian that happened during the roaring twenties... so any ideas of a good event that would be good enough to write a five page paper about ?
