Hello all,

I had a two level (L4/5/S1 posterior interbody lurabar fusion in 2007 and have had nothing but problems since.

I've run the gammit of Rx including Fentanyl with no success.

I've recently started seeing a new neursurgeon who does the implantable pain pumps but prior to starting a trial he wanted to try me on some longer acting meRAB again to see if I had any improvement. With that said I've been taking MS Contin 15mg 2/day and 30mg/1 day and haven't had a significant improvement except that I need to take less of my short acting Rx's.

Has anyone had an implant and if so, how was your success thereafter?

I also just had (yesterday) an anterior cervical fusion on C6/7 and although am in pain seem to be doing pretty well which was a great suprise as after my PILF I was miserable.

The reason for the C6/7 fusion was after a lurabar and thoracic MRI to check the stability of my lurabar fusion and inquire in to pain I've been having in my thoracic area (later finding that this was referred pain from my neck) they accidently got a picture of my cervical spine and my C6/7 was pushing on my spinal cord and had actually bruised it.

I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease so I'm sure this will not me my last body part fused as I'm only 33.

Any feedback on the implantable pain pump is greatly appreciated!
