Nice to see the group hanging together.. Sorry your still dealing with all this pain . Leslie you had 10" in Fla. ? Wow..you better becareful from now on..your always doin to much... So hows everyone doing ? I sure miss everyone..

oh my...I'm home...thank you...oh I've missed home. Well..I helped my husbanRAB' family pack up and clean out their family home...it is now sold...and all is done...the moving van bringing stuff to the south will be here today...I arrived home yesterday. I have never been so tired in my life. That is a true statement. My leg and back are aching up a storm...BUT the worst part of it all is that on Friday it snowed about 10 inches...white stuff...ugh. First thing Fri. morning, I went out to get the paper, and you guess it right..I FELL...like the splits...right leg and ankle straight back..onto my knee...NOT GOOD...and the left leg..didn't hit the knee...very ugly fall. Then later in the day, I actually fell out of the van when I was getting out of it..my left foot just slid out from under me...and I finally got a grip about the time I setteled between the frame of the van and the ground...again not pleasant. My knee is HURTING... I think I am going to just rest today...take meRAB...and hope for the best. I have an appt. with PM Dr. on the 27th.... May have to call family Dr. on Mon. I will come back and see all of you, my dear frienRAB in a couple of days...I missed you all too...hope you are all doing ok...again...have had no puter for 10 days... Take care.

Hi Leslie,

Man oh man, what am I going to do with you? I am so sorry to hear you fell. I think it is a very very good idea to call the doc Monday. You might need some xrays, lordy who knows what you could have done to yourself! Maybe you will get lucky and pull the part that has been hurting so much back into place :jester: Keep us posted on that. Don't do any more helping out with the family. Bring them lunch, that is plenty of help;)

I'm doing ok for now. Doc put me on skelaxin to replace the flexeril as it is less sedating (I sleep 12 hours a night and can't stay awake longer than 12) But, unfortunately it burns my stomach too badly. I went back to the flexeril. I will try again in a few days with food first. He also put me on neurontin (sp?) and none too soon. I have been in absolute agony with my muscle spasms curling my foot in. OH it is soooo painful and not something that will let you rest at all! I started it Friday and an hour later, the spasms were much calmer. Like this stuff already!

Heal up and come back to us. We miss you!

Welcome Back!!!! But ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooooooooo, you fell, twice, to boot. I suppose you wish you could go back & get up on the other side of the bed that day, huh? I read this post after replying back to your reply to my post (hmm ok my heaRAB spinning lol). Okay, well maybe this IS why your knee is hurting. Definitely keep icing it on and off for a few days, then try heat. I hope you don't also start feeling more back pain from this. Maybe you should have your knee x-rayd to make sure you didnt crack anything in there. I hope that pain subsides and doesnt end up to be anything serious.
 
Hello Sage, I am sorry about your falls ouch!! I hope you will be ok, I have fallen the other day too and its crazy. I miss you all so much, take care and get some rest!

Please do not hesitate to call your doctor Monday morning!! I fainted 3 weeks ago, went by arabulance to the hospital, and then spent 2 weeks laid out with 2 strains of the flu at the same time. While I was so sick, I didn't realize my back was hurting (any more than I was all over my body). However, once I was better and started trying to do things, my back just started hurting more and more each day. I was, of course, in denial, but my husband couldn't help but notice how I was walking, etc.

I just went to my neurosurgeon on Friday and luckily found out that it doesn't appear that I have hurt my fusion, hardware, etc., so he is guessing I have an acute muscle injury, having torn some major muscle in my back. My balance is awful, I can't open doors, can't slice bread, can't do any action that involves back and forth action.

I am to wait 3 to 4 more weeks, and if I don't improve, he will run bone scans to see if I have an occult sacral facture or other bony fracture that didn't show up on xray.

I hope you have a better outcome since you were awake and tried to catch yourself when you fell. I guess fainting is one of the worst ways to fall since we don't try to break the fall in any way.

Hope you get checked out and get good news!! Meanwhile, take it easy!!

Oh my! Those falls would be hard enough on ANYONE, but on you, my dear, how awful! You must be in a lot of pain! You're likely to be pretty sore for a while!

Take it as easy as you can. You deserve a big rest after all the work you've done anyway, and now doubly so!

Shawley!!! No snow in FL!!! I was in Massachusetts, to help my husband's family close and sell the family home. !!!!!
All of my frienRAB...well, I have an appt. this morning...!!! With the PM Dr. so we will see what the next step is...have heart stand up MRI & discogram...which I haven't had before. The SI joint injections I had didn't have any steroiRAB in it...just the nurabing stuff...but that really made me feel good...took the pain away...for a short period of time...
Lisa...so many medications...wow...no wonder you feel strange..not good.
You can have diet / caffiene free pepsi....It's the caffiene that makes your heart race...chocolate will do that too... Sorry that you have all of this in addition to the back pain... Will be back later with a new post....tell you all what the PM Dr. says...

oh wow...my frienRAB...thank you all for your concern. I did not call my family Dr. yesterday..I figured if I had bruised my knee, well, it would take a few days for it to feel better. My back doesn't feel wonderful...to say the least. Actually, I think I may have tweaked the left side...in addition to the normal pain on the right side. Just lovely.
Baybreeze: So sorry that your knee is acting up. My knee was bothering me before my falls...but it is much worse now...I really wonder if the "back" is responsible for this. Hope you are feeling better...
KK: How are you??? So nice to hear from you...so sorry that you fell also..how are you doing?? Hope everything in your life is going well..I think of you... Thank you for caring..it means a lot.
BlueAtlas (Emily!!): I am about the same...I would have thought I would feel better by this morning...I did rest on Sun. & Mon. - will have to see what the day brings...Falls are no fun...geez, it was a fall that caused all of the problems I have with my back and neck to begin with...
deb: Nope, didn't have the option of going back to bed and getting up on the other side...wish I had done that!! I was exhaused when I got home...but, the work had to be done, and I was really pushing others hard to get things done...I did some work, but not nearly as much as I normally would have...I just tried to keep others on track..whatever, we actually accomplished the task in 4 days...which was a miraicle..
Lisa: My dear friend, Lisa...yeah, I know, stupid things happen...and I don't seem to have my smart hat on recently..that snow is tricky stuff...had absolutely no control...felt myself going down and that was it. I have an appt. with the PM Dr. tomorrow....he is going to be so thrilled with me...NOT..to see the results of the injection into the SI joint 2 weeks ago...
Glad that your Dr. is giving you different meRAB. to help you out...lets just give it a while and see how effective they are....I am praying they are going to work really really well. Thank you again my friend for all of your care...

Welcome back girl! We missed you! You weren't happy with one fall, you had to go and fall twice! I hope you feel better, you must hurt all over! SounRAB like you did a lot of work while you were gone....please rest for a few days now. Keep us posted on your injuries :(

I really hate to see you in so much pain. I hate to see all of us in it to be honest. Maybe you will get lucky and get something positive out of this, like perhaps the doctors actually listening for once! My PM doc told me last week that sometimes the initial injection only lasts a few weeks, sometimes a few months. :(He was prepared to do another one but I didn't know that and didn't have a ride so I blew it off as I am fine. Now I wish I had taken him up on it! I go again next week so no biggie there.

I am having a really rough time with all of these meRAB though. They all make me feel so weird. So far I went from MsContin and Flexeril to MsContin, Skelaxin, Neurontin, BP meRAB w/a diuretic attached, Albuterol inhaler and Singulair. Tomorrow they are going to discuss tossing cholesterol meRAB in the mix. I stopped the skelaxin and went back to flexeril for now because it burns my tummy. I haven't been taking the singulair because I got a headache the first day and so many meRAB. I didn't start them all in one day but within a few days of each other. Now I have a serious migraine and had to ask the pharmacist if I can take anything. Yep. Hope it works, going to take it when I am done here. I can't drink caffeine as that makes me totally strange feeling with it all. So much for my 1 diet coke a day. :( In a nut shell, I don't like how all of this makes me feel. To be honest, I think the big culprit is the BP med, its called Triamterine.

Sorry to go on about my woes. They tell me I can go back to work but A, I still hurt so badly and now, I'm trying to adjust to meRAB. I can't remeraber who I am much less learn something new! ha ha

Please keep us posted. Use Ice and heat alternately and take your meRAB like a good girl. Make your husband pamper you for now. Be completely honest with your PM doc and FOLLOW his advice if he says to call the other doc.;)

Sage, how are you doing today? I am worry about you, this is not good to take a fall while you had spinal surgery. I hope you are OK...
I tend to overdo and than i suffer so much from pain.
My overdo now is not even much: simple cooking, just a ride in a car for 20 minutes or mild walking... but we, women, always push ourselves to do more, to do this or that and we suffer after.
I am glad to hear from you, we miss you here.
Please let us know how did you do at the DR's office.

Leslie, welcome back, glad everything went okay except the falling ouch! I had that happen and i freaked. Try not to do that and just rest and like others said ice, ice. I couldn't walk for like two days i think it hit muscles i didn't know where still there so just take an easy and get caught up on rest!

Sorry to hear of your fall , I had my own scare the other day , fell right on my buttcheek where my battery is located:eek: it hurt , but the pain went away..Thought I smashed the battery at first..all I could think of was acid burning my butt off ..:D:dizzy: Hope things are going well today..Nice to see ya'll again..

Oh thank you all for your replies...oh Shawley..you are missed. Can't help it, you made me laugh...battery acid...and you were worried about burns on your cheek!!! Ouch... Thank you for your concern. I was wearning my florida flip flops when I went out for the newspaper at 6:30 a.m.....when I bent over to get the paper...well...my right foot went forward...then the leg went backwarRAB..I dropped to the other knee..(almost the splits..) then did a nice little roll...very attractive. Thought I wanted to lay in the snow for a little while...it hurt...but there was a car coming down the street...and I didn't want to make a scene, so I arose from the driveway...ungracefully..and gimped back to the house...nice. Please, all of my northern frienRAB...be careful...that white stuff is leathal.
Moldova..oh, I have wondered how you are doing...I know that you are still recovering from your surgery..it does take "it" out of you...getting tired very easily is very normal...please rest as much as possible...stay out of that "white stuff"... I do worry about you...have to enjoy that new baby that is coming your way soon. (when is the new grandbaby due?? I forgot)
