So my best friend's family is here in the U.S. on a worker's Visa, their time has expired and his family has tried to keep the situation from him for a while now. He was recently told that their time here is expiring and his family must leave the country before the end of January. He is a senior at one of the best high schools in our state, in the top 5% of our class, and really active in our community. It sounds stupid, but is there anything I can do? Does anyone know of laws or loopholes that would let him stay at least until he graduates? They have a lawyer and are doing all they can, but I am scared. He means so much to me, it will be like losing a part of me. I know we'll stay in touch but it won't be the same-- international phone calls are expensive and the country they have to move back to is dangerous. Can anyone maybe give me a few sites where I can start researching? Thank you so much in advance, you have no idea how much this means to me.
