Images from .gov sites?

I need pictures for a yearbook i'm working on of the music artists: Mika, Rihanna, and the Plain White T's, as well as the virgina tech shooting and the superbowl 2008, but because of copyright, they have to be from .gov or .mil sites...if you could help me find those pictures i would be grateful!
 
You could try stock photo sites, but you have to give credit and depending on the site, pay.
I would ask the teacher for suggestions.
