Dark skinned. The way he is described, it really seems so. Not to mention this is the middle east..desert...2000 years ago. In the gene pool, there weren't many alleles for light skin then. Back then, most were dark skinned. Catholics in America regard pictures alot, but it seems to be just to appeal to the masses, which is a white jesus and Mary.
