I always dreamed of writing a book. I've been spending like what, a year just writing in my seven different notebooks. But I always felt doubtful that a thirteen-year-old girl can't get published (but that nine-year-old boy got published, so why can't I?), and some people even told me I can't. I'm writing about an twelve-year-old orphan. Now, my prose's plot does have a few holes in it (my protagonist doesn't have a name yet, because I'm still trying to fill up the empty holes). I doing research on publishing since I have 11 (too young?) and I figured out the world of it, and learned most publishers names like Puffin Books an imprint of Penguin USA, Scholastic, Inc. and the fact I need a literary agent (I'm hoping to get AdamsLiterary -Josh and Tracey Adams of AdamsLiterary ((www.adamsliterary.com)) ). I feel like it's my calling to get published. I want to be the next Kate Dicamillo (Don't you love Because of Winn-Dixie?), or Kevin Henkes (I adore the book he wrote Olive's Ocean!). Now even my mom says that a thirteen-year-old girl can't get published because their novel is probably lacking in organization. But I feel like I'm ready for the publishing world. I need a person's opinion on the question I asked. All answers were be appreciated!! Thanks ;D -Lily
