I'm wondering, of all the cities that are sinking, is Venice one of them?

Yes venice is sinking due to extraction of water from the aquifer beneath it.
An aquifer is An underground layer of rock, sand, or gravel capable of storing water within cracks and pore spaces, or between grains
Water in Aquifers is extracted for drinking waters in many cities.

Some recent studies have suggested that venice is no longer sinking as extraction of water from the aquifer beneath it has been banned since the 1960's
 
Yes at one time Venice was famous for it's carriages. Once the car was invented, Venice started to sink, it's all man's fault.

If people in Texas just stopped driving trucks, Venice could be saved.
 
Some where I read that Venice isn't actually sinking on its own foundry, however the water has gotten 24 centimeters higher in the past 100 years. Scientist believe it may have more to do with the melting of the polar icecaps raising the water levels than actually sinking. Prior to the past 100 years, the water levels would rise or the city would sink on an average of 7 centimeters per 100 years.
