IM+ with N95 using WLAN

can someone help me setting this up?

I can't seem to get it up and running using the WLAN

I do have the WLAN/WIFI up and running and am able to browse the Internet

hmm.. never tried it before with wifi.... I've always used my data plan because if i have wifi at home.... I'd be using AIM on my computer. Gimme few mins... I'll check for you.
 
HMM... it seems to work on mine so I'm not sure what's wrong with your settings. I just connect to the wifi when it asks for an access point. check the screen below and notice the wifi icon on the top right.
 
You have to change your WLAN access point to a "Data" provider, then go into IM+ and set it to that access point. Then, go back to the WLAN access point settings and change it back from Data to Wireless.

Then it works with your WLAN point. Not sure why IM+ doesn't list wireless points, but oh well.
 
yea my n95 and im+ works fine with wifi. when it asks me to chose an access point i just chose wifi and it connects. buddy list comes up like 5 seconds later. there is a problem though..dunno if its just me.

heres the situation:
when you're having a conversation with someone on IM+ AIM. you're typing a message either with t9 or regular tap, and the person you're talking to sends a message while you are typing. IM+ erases the word or letter you are working on typing and you have to start over typing that word. very annoying when you're typing a word and someone sends you a reply and you have to start over. sucks more when the person you're talking to is typing ALOT
 
Not sure why it'd be that different from my n93 to the n95, but i don't have to do any of that. Set it to "Always Ask" for an access point. When it asks, either you will have the saved WLAN, which will just show up (so for my home network, named 'wiachu', it just shows up as a WLAN AP 'wiachu')... if it's a WLAN you've never jumped on before, hit the 'Search for WLAN' option, choose your WLAN, and voila.

I use IM Plus over WiFi all the time at home,

It's probably a bug. Wireless access points are not listed when you go to connect with IM+ on my N95.

"Always Ask" is not an option in the server settings. You have to choose an access point and it only lists Data bearers - no WLAN points.
 
This has always been an issue with IM+ thats why i dont use it... It was like this in s60v2 and its the same in s60v3... they won't fix it either.. thats why IM+ is crap!!!

Agile messenger is heaps better...
