im turning 15 is this a weird present to ask for?

Usually older people ask to pretend its not their birthday so that they don't think they are getting older, i say its your birthday wish for whatever floats your boat.

Thats silly. I wish I could be 15 again. It's the 1 day of the year that is truly about you. Don't be so shy. Who knows if you open up you could end up having fun.
 
Well.. it's not weird, but it is your birthday. Maybe you should just ask not to go over the top or make such a big deal out of it, but still have some celebration.

not at all. I am hispanic and most girls get a quinenaera when they turn 15. It's like a sweet 16 and I asked not to have one. Instead my parents got me new laptop.
 
Lol, well as one of those that really enjoys her birthday I really can't imagine why you don't like your birthday, but it's YOUR birthday and if you dont wanna do anything, then others just have to take that seriously and I think it's very brave of you to ask for that!
 
Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate any special occasions. I think that it is unusual because there are special times when we take time to lift up others and reflect on their contributions. If there were no holidays and no special occasions, there would be no reason to celebrate. A birthday is an opportunity for others to celebrate you. Some people show affection by 1. spending quality time, 2. gift giving, 3. sharing a talent- service, 4. physical touch, 5. words of affirmation/compliments. So, if your parents show love by 1., 2., and 5., then a birthday is a good time and reason to express and share that love.
 
Of course not. I'm the same way. Some may answer it is weird because its your birthday and you are suppose to be the center of attention and celebrate it when really, if the present you want is to not make a big deal out of it they should at least try to make you feel comfortable.
But if some do give you something, just say thank you lol and be mad at them after your birthday for doing so haha.
Just keep reminding them.
Its not weird at all. A lot of people are like this too. So you aren't alone.
