I'm in high school and I'm attempting to write my own book.
Now, I'm not asking anyone to write up a plot line for me, but what are some things I should probably 'cover' in my first chapter?
Here are some things I'm thinking I should probably do:
1.) Open up the chapter in the middle of an action oriented scene (Someone running, etc.)
2.) Introduce the main protagonist, while not really explaining much about his background and leaving that to be explored in later chapters
3.) End the chapter in a cliff hanger.
Any other suggestions?
