me, please help!? Well I started to partition my hard drive, and then a window came up that said the disk cannot be partitioned because some file cannot be moved. It then says that I should back up the disk and use disk utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore my information to the disk, and try using book camp assistant again. What does this mean, and what should I do?
It wants me to format my Hard drive into Mac OS Extended (Journaled) but it is already in that format, I have no idea what to do.
Okay, I know now that I have to re format my Hard drive, but is there any way I can do this without losing my files?

http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ Go here and download the Installation Guide (pdf). It explains your problem and what you need to do to fix it.

Near the bottom of the Troubleshooting page (Page 21) explains why you get the message you are seeing. ("If you can't partition your disk")

It is recommended by Apple that you print out the instructions so that you have them to read as you do the installation.

Backing up the disc means burning all of your files that you want to keep (data, music, videos, etc) to a blank CD or DVD. (or more if you have too much to fit on a single disc) That way when it gets erased when you reformat the drive, you have a copy to copy back to the hard drive after you finish all of your installing. If you have a second hard drive (an external USB or Firewire drive) you can optionally copy the files there instead of burning them to disc(s).

Anything that was installed from your system installation discs need not be copied as you can reinstall it from the installation discs.

Any applications that you have added such as PhotoShop, games, etc. should have their own installation discs so they don't need to be backed up. Don't forget about saving email folders from the Library. (I always copy my entire Library folders from the hard drive, the System and the User folders.)

If you have any freeware, shareware or downloaded software that you don't have on backup discs, you need to back it up like your data files.

Make sure you have the serial numbers for any applications written down so you can put them in when asked later!
