i'm trying to install photoshop onmy comp..?

and it keeps saying to close my 'messenger' (IM) so it can run..but iput up the task manager and it doesn't show any programs being open..i've already signed off/exited aim/msn/yahoo messengers...

please help, i've got to give my friends' disc back soon
 
That's probably the problem, as you can only install photoshop onto one computer at a time. One product key per person. You'll need to buy your own.
 
look in your system tray by the clock. Is the messenger icon there? If so, right click it and choose "Exit."

if you don't see it, go to the task manager and then choose "Processes" and look for the messenger process. If you see it, select it and chose "end process" and try again.

Try to restart your computer. Then run the setup file again.
If that doesn't work, make sure you have ended all tasks in the task manager (all the ones that say they're run by the user)
If that doesn't work, the disc may be corrupt, or your pc can't handle the program.
