balance between? I'm 18 years old and I'm 6 feet tall, 150 lbs (give or take a few lbs) I've been lifting about 4 -5 days every week all summer with my friend. I don't look any bigger but I've been making some really good gains in the gym. My friend, however, was in football and is a little overweight so I've also been running with him about 6 to 7 miles maybe 3-4 times a week. I was just wondering if this is at all counterproductive and also what my diet should consist of. He keeps telling me I need to eat more if I want to gain muscle and yet I'm still running with him which is burning calories. I'm confused to say the least. I'm also taking taking 2 scoops of protein before I lift and after which seems to be helping. Any help on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks again!
a balance between them?* sorry
In case you're wondering, my lifting routine is balanced. We try to pick 1 or 2 muscle groups each day and just work those really hard. We make sure we leave plenty of time to recover. My friend was really into lifting during football, so my lifting program definitely isn't a problem.
