I'm training for the military, but I feel like saying "screw it, they'll train me...

...when I get there"? Is this a good or bad attitude? I'm not very motivated. Every time I run a mile, I get exhausted...but I can do it. Sometimes I feel like quitting my daily runs b/c it gets tiring sometimes and I can stop and rest if I want to..which I do occasionally.

What do you think? I could run it non-stop if I had someone pushing me...but otherwise, I'm not very motivated to train.
Don't get me wrong, I want to join and serve SO bad. I'm just not motivated to train physically.

Bad idea. Very bad idea. The worst thing you can do is get out of shape and then have to work yourself back up. When I set out to join the Army I had never exercised a day in my life. I started to work out, but when I showed up I was still unprepared and I paid for it.

That said, I looked around and saw people even worse off than I was, and thought "Did you people not prepare for this at all?"

Do yourself a big favor and start now.

Think of it this way, if you fail to meet the expectations of your DI you will be their favorite recruit and by favorite I mean the guy they will always pick on.

Do you honestly want someone screaming and making fun of you every day for the next 3 months?

dude im in the military and trust me, its hard to get up and work out consistently.

one of the good things is, you do get motivated by your drill sergeants once you get there.

it might be a little harder for you if you get exhausted running 1 mile.
eat a healthier diet, lots of fruits and vegetables, no fried foods or sweets.

you should run 2 miles at least and not get very tired.

Take the "screw it, they'll train me when I get there" attitude.

And don't worry, the pain of hitting basic out of shape will only last for a couple of weeks after you complete basic.

I'm kind of the same way, but I keep doing it. Even if you only do a mile a day, or even a little less, just try and keep it up, you will be loving yourself later on when you're in basic/boot camp.

Keep training. In a very short time you will be introduced to a person wearing a Smokey Bear hat...and he will provide additional "encouragement."
