Personally, I love Yamahas. But basically, the big four of Japanese street bikes are similar unless you know a lot about each one. But starting out on a 600cc, the bikes are really similar and a lot of it comes down to looks, color and how it feels. If you haven't sat on either of them, go to your local dealer and sit on a few and feel for it. How the handlebars feel, how you feel when your feet is on the ground and how it feels shifting gears and all that. I like the looks, the suspension and the cornering ability that the R6 has as well as the power it puts out. Can't really provide you with an exact answer on what to go with because you have to decide for yourself. Go get a feel for each one and go from there. Also check out your insurance before making a decision cause they can be pretty expensive on bikes for full coverage (which is what I recommend) if you are young. Good luck, ride safe.
