I'm thinking of trading my 1996 Honda Civic for a 1997 Honda Civic. What should I be

cautious about? I recently decided to keep my 1996 Honda Civic and put some money into it for repairs. After having significant repairs completed this week, I took it to have the front end aligned. The man who did the alignment asked me if I'd be interested in trading my 2 door standard for his 4 door automatic, one year newer. He explained he used to have a 2 door standard and his boss wrecked it and replaced it with the 4 door, his wife is still mad and would rather have a 2 door..This would be ideal for me because I have a 2 year old with me most of the time and getting in and out of the back seat has been a pain, also the 4 door has tinted windows. Ideally, it would be the perfect trade. I'm hesitant because my car is in the best condition since I've had it and I don't have much extra money to spend on car repairs. The owner of the other car wants me to come to his work and trade cars for a day, that way we can check out the other's car and have a mechanic look at it or whatever. Is this a good idea? What should I be concerned about?
Also, I live in Texas, does anyone know if you have to pay taxes if you do an even trade on a vehicle?
